• Collected 12,000 books, used by the City of Sydney to open Sydney's first public library.

• Opened and administered a free tuberculosis clinic at the Sydney City Hospital

• Initiated the East Coast Fund for visiting Royal Canadian Navy personnel during WW II

• Provided the first street signs in the city of Sydney

• Furnished the pediatrics ward for the City and St. Rita’s Hospitals

• Purchased equipment for the first Academy Junior Band

• Funded the start of Babe Ruth Baseball in Sydney, which became the Sydney and District Little League

• Sponsored monthly birthday parties at the Bairncroft and Little Flower Orphanages, as well as purchased playground equipment 

• Initiated the development of the Royal Canadian Senior Citizens Housing Development

• Built the Bandshell in Wentworth Park

• Built the Ann Terry Memorial Gazebo at Wentworth Park

• Purchased equipment and material to improve quality of life for the CNIB, Community Involvement for the Disabled and hearing impaired and disabled students.

• Sponsored a Foster Child since 1969 through Foster Parents Plan International

• Providing graduating scholarships

• Sponsored the Sydney Academy Debating Club
